Good to know before you go

Driving in the Czech Republic with an electronic vignette.

In the Czech Republic, the vignette has been exclusively electronic since 2021. It is registered to your number plate and checked by cameras. Four durations are available, from the one-day vignette to the annual vignette valid for 365 days from the date you choose.

Electric and hydrogen vehicles are exempt, but must be registered.
The Prague ring road and several urban bypasses are free: check the official map.

Is the Czech vignette valid immediately?+

Yes, from the start date and time you choose. You can therefore order it just before crossing the border.

Do I need a vignette for a motorcycle?+

No, motorcycles are exempt from the vignette in the Czech Republic.

What happens if I enter the wrong number plate?+

The vignette would not be recognised during a check. That is why we ask you to enter your plate twice, with a visual preview.

Does the annual vignette follow the calendar year?+
